Baobab Collection supports the fight against breast cancer
Since 2018, Baobab Collection has been committed to research dedicated to breast cancer. A part of the profits from the Women and Gentlemen scented candles is donated to the Fournier-Majoie Foundation to support the research against breast cancer.
Breast cancer is now the most diagnosed cancer among women. Globally, nearly one in twenty women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. In 2022, approximately 2.3 million women received this diagnosis. Â
Behind these figures are personal stories and struggles. To support this fight, Baobab Collection wanted to combine its creative expertise with the Fournier-Majoie Foundation's scientific work.
THE FOURNIER-MAJOIE FOUNDATION
Founded in 2007 by Dr. Bernard Majoie, the Fournier-Majoie Foundation is a Belgian foundation that supports oncology research to improve the lives of cancer patients. It identifies, funds, and supports researchers across Europe in order to turn their discoveries into concrete solutions. In particular, it backs several innovative projects in the fight against breast cancer, with an approach that is both rigorous, credible, and impact-driven.
Women & Gentlemen: symbols of a shared fight
Two iconic creations embody Baobab Collection's commitment to the fight against breast cancer: the Women and Gentlemen scented candles. These two creations, produced with the brand's artisanal expertise, together become the emblems of a committed partnership in which decorative objects take on a symbolic and supportive dimension. Â
WOMEN SCENTED CANDLE
Magnolia - Rose - Musk
Designed for this partnership, the Women scented candle features a hand–screen–printed decoration that highlights the feminine symbol in pink and 24-carat gold. Its fragrance combines magnolia, rose and musk, a subtle accord created to celebrate the many facets of femininity.
GENTLEMEN SCENTED CANDLE
Rum - Saffron - Labdanum
Created to highlight the valuable role of men and their essential support in this fight, the Gentlemen scented candle also features the feminine symbol, this time screen-printed in blue and platinum. Its notes of rum, saffron and labdanum create a warm and enveloping fragrance.
The story behind the collection Â
The story behind this collection started with an encounter. In 2018, a young woman, diagnosed with breast cancer at only 35 years old, visited the Baobab Collection team. Her story deeply moved our artistic director, Corinne Bensahel, whose mother had succumbed to the same disease. This personal experience sparked the desire to create a candle that would be both a decorative object and a message of solidarity, as well as a concrete gesture in support of research. Â
The Women scented candle was thus born, followed by the Gentlemen scented candle to symbolise the importance of masculine support in this fight. Â
